This is not your typical workshop!! We will be working with textures, pumpkin shapes and special glazes to make the most charming and perfect plate to enjoy your favourite pie or charcuterie snacks this fall season.  This is a fun and rewarding experience that will leave your guests speechless!

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT:  Our instructor is a  high school teacher. She will walk you through step by step and teach you how to construct the perfect plates.  You will work with textures and shapes and learn a new method to create a gorgeous and functional side plates.  In the second workshop you will learn how to apply premium glazes to enhance the textures in your final work of art and bring the overall design together. Your work will be fired twice, once after you construct the mug and once after you glaze it. Every mug will be success with this method!

Once you learn these techniques you are welcome to come use the open clay studio to make more for all your friends and family.   They make great gifts!

WHAT YOU NEED: Everything will be provided for you!

WHAT MAKES THIS WORKSHOP DIFFERENT THEN THE REST:  This is two day workshop working with premium stoneware clay, specially crafted premium glazes and glaze techniques that will enhance the textures in your plates.  Once this glaze is fired on, your mug will be food safe, dishwasher, microwave and even oven safe if you wish!!  The premium clay and glaze used will stand the test of time.  ALL Premium glazes require that you fire your pottery before applying a glaze and a second firing is required.  Most pottery workshops use a clay bases glaze that can be applied while the clay is still wet and this allows to have the project complete in once sitting.

This workshop is a fun and rewarding experience for even the most beginner potter and you will learn the foundations and techniques of working with clay while making the perfect fall mug.  After this workshop you will have all the skills to make many more mugs.  We offer open studio time that you can come in and create.  We also have all the supplies and kits to assist you in setting up a little workshop at home to make your pottery and bring it to us for firing!

This is a great class for those who want to learn pottery but do not have the time to take long term classes. Students will learn how to use the tool, techniques and how to work with clay at every class eventually learning enough to create from home!!

In this course you will create your mug on Saturday and you will come back to glaze it when it has been fired!! We will be using  premium stoneware clay, (made for oven/microwave safe projects), and this workshop includes all your firing and glazing.  Glazes will be premium quality glazes (made for food safe dishes) and have a great selection of glaze combinations.
