All participants must be registered to create, as our seats are limited.

 Follow along step-by-step hand building with clay with our highly qualified art Instructor and learn to make a textured mug and matching cookie plate if there is time.

This is a great class for those who want to learn pottery but do not have the time to take long term classes. Students will learn how to use the tool, techniques and will be able to create more mugs during the open studio time.

Come to the Kre’ative Arts Studio to work and make your own Creations!! A certified studio technician will be available to ensure that all safety protocol’s are followed and any questions/needs are met,  and supplies can be purchased.    

Please note: this is not a structured class and there will be no formal instructions but someone knowledgable will be here to lend a hand or advice.  This is for those who have taken a class here before and are ready to work on projects on their own.  

The studio is open for both fused glass and pottery

This open studio is for those students who have previously taken workshops and know how to safely use the equipment to create their own projects. Create your own dinner ware set, mugs or get ready for Christmas and make amazing hand made gifts that will leave loved ones speechless!!!

Don’t forget to take classes/workshops that introduce new process and projects and then come in and make a series of them for only the cost of your supplies!!!

PLEASE NOTE: There is no formal instruction. An instructor will be there to help you purchase glass, clay or give advice.

Come in and use the space to create their own fused glass or pottery project. Come in to trim and carve your leather hard ceramic’s or glaze your bisque. All supplies you need will be available.

What is Included with studio time:

• 3 hours of creative time in the studio with space to work (this includes clean up time). Clean up of tools and works stations is the responsibility of the individual.

• use of equipment; pottery wheel, grinder, forms for slumping glass and clay into bowls and plates and platters etc. Please bring your own hand tools for clay and glass to the studio.  Kits are available for purchase at the studio.

• A secure storage space and bin is provided for you so you to leave your work in progress and your studio supplies/materials.

• All supplies must be purchased on site, please do not bring in any other supplies into our establishment as mixing materials can cause a real problem in the studio and in our kilns.

   WE FIRE ALL YOUR WORK:

  Please note: firing and glazing is included with clay purchase.

• Fused glass has an additional fee to fire and slump work.

In this 8 week course, you will learn the all the essential foundations and techniques used in hand-building and throwing on the wheel to create vessels and other objects with clay.  You will explore different approaches to create forms and textures as you develop your hand building skills.  Whether you are looking to make functional pieces such as mugs, bowls, plates or decorative pieces to adorn your home this is the perfect workshop to get you started.  Our class are so small to allow a lot time for one-one attention.

Once students have complete this course, they are now are welcome to use the open studio time to create  you own projects and set’s of mugs, plates etc for friends and family!!
 This foundations course is absolutely essential and the building blocks to all pottery/ceramics creations and will leaving you wanting more.

What is included: you will receive all the basic tools necessary for both hand-building and  the intro to wheel throwing. Every student will also  receive a 25lb block of our premium stoneware clay, (made for oven/microwave safe projects), and all your glaze and firing and glazing is included.  Glazes will be premium quality glazes (made for food safe dishes) and have a great selection of glaze combinations.  The class is loose and never set in stone, we offer a selections of projects to accommodate individuals.  Techniques will be demonstrated and taught and in turn the students will have the opportunity to  practise those techniques with various projects.

Class Overview:

• students will learn the essential techniques for hand-building
• Students will be introduced to the basic wheel throwing techniques

Brenda is a certified Artist Educator and is now certified in Arts Therapy. She has over 20 years of teaching, mentoring and painting experience. She is a self-taught artist and has won many awards for her Wildlife & Landscape paintings. She creates a friendly and supportive environment to learn and experiment.
