Little Black Frame Event

Show dates:  May 3 – June 21, 2024

Opening Reception:  Friday May 10th; 6-9 pm – Artists to attend


Submission deadline:  Monday April 22, 4 pm

  • 1st jury – electronic selection; artists will be notified by Wednesday April 24
  • 2nd jury – selection in person after art work is delivered

Art work to be delivered:   April 25, 26 & 27; 12 – 4 pm

Art must be collected between:   June 21, 22; 12-4 pm, art works not collect will be subject to a storage fee.

Theme: Little Black Frame Event

  • Open to Emerging and established artists
  • Submissions can include:   paintings in any medium, drawings, mixed media, fibre art, photography, and sculpture, pottery, glass (including functional art)
  • Wall art submissions are to be a minimum of 6×6” and maximum of 12×12 inches in size and framed with a black frame. 
  • 3 dimensional works are to be less than 10x10x10”

Entry Fee:  $45 per artist, up to 3 art pieces per artist

Payment:  Non-refundable entry fees are payable by online at SUBMISSION FEE or in person at the AGL during gallery hours.

Terms of Entry:  2 Step Jury process

Step 1:  On-line Submission

  • Applications are only accepted electronically and should be sent through our online submission form. SUBMISSION FORM
  • Submit high quality photos in jpeg format (file sizes of under 5 mb are more likely to upload properly)
  • Artists may submit up to 3 recent pieces for jurying.
  • Open to all emerging and established artists 18 years of age and older in Ontario

Step 2: In-person Submission 

All work must be exhibition ready. Note: if artwork is not considered exhibition ready when delivered it will not be included in the exhibition.

  • All entries must be for sale
  • All 2 Dimensional art works must be framed with a black frame (matted or floating frame)
  • All art works on paper must be matted and framed under glass
  • Frames should be wired with D rings or Sawtooth picture hangers
  • Works rejected at this stage must be picked up May 2, 3 or 4; 12-4 pm; art works not collect will be subject to a storage fee.

No substitutions: only work that has been submitted and accepted by the jurors will be included in the exhibition.

Works sold are subjected to 40% commission to the Art Gallery of Lambeth

Application fee is non-refundable.

The AGL reserves the right to decline a submission deemed unsuitable for the show.

**This includes work that is not dry, not properly framed, work created with assistance, reproductions or copies of another’s artwork.
